Who Do You Teach With?

As a new school year approaches, I want you to remember that God is right there with you.

In your classroom. In the hallways.  In every lesson.  In every conversation.

His name won’t be posted outside your door or in fancy letters on your bulletin board. His name won’t be on your syllabus and you probably won’t be able to formally introduce Him.

But don’t worry.

Your students will notice something different about your classroom. About you. His presence will be noticed because the Spirit of God dwells in you.

His introduction will transpire through your actions.

Your students will feel His presence by how you love, how you serve, how you praise, and how you discipline.

Remember the students you teach are God’s students, His children. God knows their needs outside of the curriculum. Ask Him to reveal them to you.

He has chosen you to teach them, to nurture them, to pray for them.

He has chosen your students to teach you, to impact you, to help you grow.

It’s going to be challenging. There might be days when you feel like you can’t do it by yourself. But just remember, you have the most amazing teacher supporting you. He is the greatest teacher. Spend time in His Word and learn from Him.

Jesus said, “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5:14-16‬ ‭

He has placed you on a beautiful stand to shine your light. Whether that stand is in a public school or private school. Whether it is in church, or at home with your own babies, God has blessed you with a powerful gift. He has equipped YOU for this.

Abide in Jesus, so you can learn to serve like Him, love like Him, and teach like Him. Remember that the light you shine and the fruit you bear glorifies your Father in heaven.
